The Business Development Officer’s (BDO) is responsible for initiating, marketing, and packaging SBA 504 real estate loans to achieve stated sales goals. The BDO develops relationships with key partners and referral sources such as commercial real estate brokers and commercial lenders.
The BDO’s primary goal is to be the main point of contact at TMC Financing for applicants as well as our partners in providing SBA 504 loans to small business owners, resulting in increased territory volume. This is accomplished through upfront work to generate new leads or turn developing leads into qualified clients. Accordingly, the BDO places calls to new prospects/partners and attends industry events. They follow up with key partners and referral sources, such as commercial real estate brokers and commercial lenders. The BDO needs to be an expert in the SBA’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The BDO needs to be responsive to referral partners and quickly advise on eligibility and structure loan requests.
Responsabilidades
- Grow existing and develop new key partners and referral sources, and acquire new owner user deals through their referrals within an assigned territory.
- Interview business owners and /or referral partners to determine eligibility for the SBA 504 loan program.
- Monitor transactions from the referral stage through loan closing and funding. Set expectations, monitor timelines, and keep all parties in the deal (commercial real estate broker, first mortgage lender, and business owner) well informed.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, and may receive assistance/guidance on more complex deals.
- Make a substantial number of outside, in-person calls on prospects and clients requiring extensive automotive travel within an assigned territory.

Calificaciones
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and eight plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Results and people-oriented with sound judgment — ability to balance other business considerations with client issues/concerns. Service-oriented, yet assertive/persuasive.
- Excellent time management and project management skills. Must be able to track and manage details for multiple clients and projects and prioritize projects against daily responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Must interact productively with many different types of personalities and work levels.
- Strong written communication and email etiquette skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and be proficient on applicable databases, systems, and vendor software programs.
- Experience in commercial real estate financing.
- Strong knowledge of SBA 504 loan program.
- Must be flexible in work schedule and able to attend evening events and travel throughout the greater Bay Area frequently.
